Widespread Thunderstorms, Severe Weather and Flash Flood Warnings

Dry for most of the West today, but it’s going to be wet in the nation’s midsection with potential severe weather and flash flooding, with widespread thunderstorms for the South and East. Here is today’s forecast and alerts.

Severe weather

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a warning for strong thunderstorms with potential severe weather over eastern New Mexico from north to south, along the Texas border to the east, and extending into extreme western Texas to the south.

Flash flood warnings

The National Weather Service has issued a warning for heavy rain and potential flash flooding in two locations. The first is for portions of the Gulf Coast in eastern Texas along the Gulf and inland extending from the Louisiana border to the east and west south of Houston.

The second is in the mid-Atlantic for portions of western and northern Virginia, eastern West Virginia, western and southern Pennsylvania, and portions of Delaware.
